AFCDC Youths Welcome New Year with Praise and Worship

On New Year’s Day, the youth of the DC congregation gathered together for a evening of fun and fellowship at Brother Taiwo and Sister Bissie Olodapo’s house. The young people came eager to have a great time. They prepared various dishes and Victor Ekanem brought his Xbox game in order to set the stage for a memorable gathering.
After some games and conversation, we enjoyed a wonderful time of praise and worship, to bring ourselves into an atmosphere in which the Holy Spirit can move.
The praise and worship was followed by a brief exhortation and discussion on the importance of holiness. During the discussion, the youth were encouraged to have a lifestyle of holiness through consecrated prayer and devotion to God. Holiness is necessary for a real and growing relationship with God. Even though we have all inherited from Adam a nature to sin, God alone can change that nature and give us the power to live holy through the experience of sanctification; we then need to live in the consecrations and commitments that brought us to that experience.
After the exhortation, our youth leader gave an update on events that are in place for the young people. She also encouraged the youth to make a sincere effort to attend camp meetings. The youth gathering culminated with a time of prayer. After prayer, the youth had the opportunity to socialize some more and just enjoy each others’ company. It was truly a blessed time of fellowship.
